When it comes to occasions when you want to look your ultimate best, your wedding day undoubtedly ranks high. To look your best on your big day, plan all your hair routines well in advance - do the groundwork now, make sure every minute counts so you'll be relaxed in the knowledge that you look simply beautiful when it really matters.
Be sure that the hairdresser you choose for the trial appointment will be available on the day of your wedding. Hairdressers take holidays, too!
Be sure to make wedding day hair appointments for your bridesmaids. Don't forget to ask immediate family members if they would like to have an appointment scheduled.
Six Months
If you want to grow out your hair for your wedding, or try a different colour or style, now is the time to talk to your hairstylist. Discuss any radical changes of style and go for it now so that there's still plenty of time to limit damage if you then decide it’s really not you.
Three Months
You should have ordered your dress by now, so you will know the shape and style. Get together with your hairdresser for an in-depth consultation about your style options. Don't feel you have to grow your hair and abandon all visits to the salon, it simply won't work. Temporary hair extensions can be used to create length on your big day. Also start thinking about the overall health of your hair, you may want to start having deep conditioning treatments.
Six Weeks
Have a trial session in the salon so you can try out different styles to suit you and your dress. Make sure you take your headdress with you and don't forget to say if you're wearing a veil and, if so, whether you plan to take it off at the reception as this will affect the way your style is constructed and how it looks from behind.
Two Weeks
If you colour your hair, have it done now so it has time to settle, but not enough time for roots to grow through. Have a trim to tidy up the shape of your hair. (Don't forget about the groom. Suggest he schedules a haircut. He'll love you even more for thinking of him.)
Night Before
Wash your hair the night before your wedding - freshly washed hair is hard to work with especially if you intend to put it up.
On The Day
This is your day. Enjoy every moment. Each detail has been planned. Don't worry if something goes a bit off schedule. After all, the party can't start without you! All the best to you on your wedding day!
